Experience: Minimum 2 years in high acuity and high pace environment preferred, with a strong preference for candidates with 5 years of high-risk experience. Consideration will be given to candidates with 3 years of high-risk experience.
License: Active compact license required
Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP. Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.
Must-Have: Experience in circulating and providing newborn care, including eye drops and vitamin K injections. Candidates must have skills in high-risk delivery assistance, teamwork, and the ability to care for newborns until transfer to postpartum.
Description:
Candidates must be prepared to float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed.
Candidates must work every other weekend and holidays as required.
Experience in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery environment is essential.
The average daily census is 15 patients, with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month.
The facility includes four operating rooms.
Candidates are expected to function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and provide continued care of the newborn.
Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is required.
Staffing will follow AWHONN guidelines.
Candidates should be able to implement care for a variety of patient diagnoses.
Skills in amnioinfusion, anticoagulation therapy, and neonatal resuscitation are necessary.
Travelers may be required to float between facilities as needed and should be flexible with assignments.
Candidates must have experience with postpartum hemorrhage management, insulin drips, and epidural anesthesia.
All candidates must have the ability to conduct newborn assessments and participate in the care of multiple births.
References must be provided covering experience in the last three years.
Compliance with all job responsibilities is crucial for this role.
Effective communication and teamwork are essential.
The candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary support team in providing comprehensive care.
