Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Compact license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Epic Experience Required 2 Years of Experience Required Travel Experience Required Description: Looking for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The unit consists of 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor. Responsibilities include circulating, assisting during OB-GYN surgeries, and providing immediate post-operative care. Nurses will attend all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries. Special procedures include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, and the use of epidural pumps and PCA pumps. The nurse will also be involved in low-risk antepartum care and care in the transition nursery. The staffing ratio is 1:1 to 1:3. Travelers may be expected to float to other areas based on skill set. Candidates must commit to working on holidays as required. References covering relevant experience are mandatory prior to starting. All nurses will be required to abide by infection control protocols and isolation precautions. Effective communication and teamwork skills are crucial for success in this role. This position requires strong assessment and patient management skills during labor and delivery. Candidates should be prepared for fast-paced and sometimes high-stress situations. Adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols is essential. Proficiency with electronic health records and charting systems is necessary.
