Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year required License: Compact license must be in hand at submission Certifications: BLS, NRP required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate preferred Must-Have: High-risk experience Experience in fast-paced, high acuity environments Ability to function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and newborn care Experience with electronic fetal monitoring Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Labor and Delivery. The unit operates in a high-risk and high-volume environment. Nurses will support midwifery clients and private OBs. Experience is valued, and staffing will follow established guidelines. Registered Nurses must provide newborn care, including assessments and injections. Staff may be required to float to other areas within the facility as needed. The unit has 31 beds and an average daily census of 15-17 patients. Candidates should be prepared to work weekends and holidays. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Endurance for a fast-paced environment and high-risk deliveries is essential. Interdisciplinary support services are available within the unit. All nurses may occasionally float to antepartum and postpartum units. Candidates are expected to provide complete patient assessments and care. Team collaboration is crucial for optimal patient outcomes. Availability for working during holidays is a requirement. References covering relevant experience are necessary prior to hire.
