Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1 Year Experience Required License: Must have an active compact license Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: High-risk experience required. Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. Description: This position involves working in a high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery unit. The nurse will participate in the delivery of a diverse range of patients. Must be capable of functioning in the role of a baby nurse during deliveries and provide ongoing care of the newborn. The role includes the administration of newborn care, such as eye and thigh injections, and newborn assessments. Positive interaction and support for midwifery clients, private OBs, and adult recovery services are essential. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is a requirement. The average daily patient census is 15, with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month. It is expected that staff will float between postpartum and antepartum units as necessary. The nurse will adhere to established staffing guidelines and protocols. Must commit to working every other weekend and holidays as needed. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates should be prepared for potential floating to sister facilities. Nurses are required to maintain professionalism and a collaborative approach while working with interdisciplinary teams.
