TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Dickinson, North Dakota, 58601!

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Day/Night Rotate (3 shifts per week, every 3rd weekend) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: - Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios. - Ability to titrate drips, including common medications used antepartum and postpartum. - Experience with trouble shooting neonatal respiratory equipment. Description: The role involves working as a Registered Nurse in a Labor and Delivery setting. Responsibilities include managing laboring patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2. Postpartum care will involve a ratio of 1:2 to 1:3. Common diagnoses include patients greater than 35 weeks in labor and mom/baby couplets. Nurses will be required to titrate drips such as Magnesium, Oxytocin, and other medications. Charge nurses are present on each shift, taking assignments while overseeing the unit. The facility utilizes an Electronic Fetal Monitoring system. Staff will be engaged in block scheduling, with weekend duties every third weekend. Holidays may require availability based on staffing needs. Floating may occur to assist in other areas as necessary. Scrubs will be provided for personnel. The environment encourages teamwork, good communication, and independence. Surgery teams handle cesarean sections while nursing staff participates in circulating for the baby. This position requires the ability to navigate a rural healthcare setting. There are limitations on additional requests for time off. Candidates must have the ability to adhere to fit testing requirements for respiratory protection. Strategic understanding of patient care and effective communication with providers is essential for success in this role.
