Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: CA state license required, pending license not accepted Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 1-3 Description: Postpartum experience preferred. First-time travelers are welcome. Weekend requirements to meet staffing needs. The facility cares for high-risk obstetrics and has a culturally diverse population. Registered Nurses circulate on cesarean sections. The daily census ranges from 15 to 20 patients. The unit has 11 rooms and 15 beds. Travelers are expected to float within their scope to meet facility needs. Each traveler must adhere to the protocols and policies of the facility. RNs will assist with vaginal deliveries and high-risk deliveries. Required skills include administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, APGAR scoring, and newborn assessment. RNs will provide lactation support and teach circumcision care to parents. Candidates must be comfortable with interventions such as IV therapy and pain management. Travelers are required to work on weekends as needed and during two out of three major holidays. References will be required that cover the past year. Adherence to infection control protocols and safety guidelines is necessary. Effective communication skills are essential for coordination with interdisciplinary teams. Applicants must have experience with charting systems, specifically Epic. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
