Candidates must be skilled in couplet care if floated. Description: This position involves providing rapid response nursing care in a labor and delivery setting. The unit has 11 labor beds, 4 OB Evaluation rooms, 2 OB PACU, and 2 ORs. The staff comprises 79 members, including charge nurses and staff nurses. Patient ratios are typically 1 RN to 2 patients or 1 RN to 1 patient. Equipment includes GE fetal monitoring systems with EMR CPN and Meditech. Typical procedures include non-stress tests, cervical exams, managing labor, and titrating medications. Nurses must be adept at handling organized chaos and managing multiple patients.
