Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery/Postpartum
Location: Long Beach, California
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts; every other weekend rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $84 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to laboring mothers and their babies
- Monitor fetal heart rates and assess maternal and fetal status during labor
- Assist with C-sections and confidently circulate in the operating room
- Support postpartum recovery, newborn care, and mother-baby bonding
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including OB techs, NICU RNs, and neonatologists
- Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum health
- Document care accurately in Cerner EMR
Qualifications
- Active RN license (or compact) with eligibility to work in California
- Minimum of 2 years of L&D and postpartum nursing experience
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP certifications
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certification required
- Must be able to circulate C-sections
- Cerner EMR experience required
- BSN not required - we welcome all qualified associates
- Ability to float to postpartum as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Expert knowledge of fetal heart monitoring and AWHONN guidelines
- Proficiency in Cerner EMR
- Strong postpartum care and mother-baby nursing skills
- C-section circulation and surgical assistance
- Excellent patient education and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced maternal child unit
- Knowledge of standard labor, multiples, high-risk, vacuum-assisted, and VBAC deliveries
