Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Contract / Travel)
LocationAustin, Texas
Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | No On-Call Required | 4 Weekend Shifts Per Schedule
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to high-risk maternal patients across all gestational ages within a Level 4 designated maternal center
- Assist with and support vaginal and cesarean section deliveries, tubal ligations, cerclage placement and removal, D&C, and complex PASD cases
- Perform circulating duties in the operating room and conduct triage assessments
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity and census
- Utilize electronic medical record systems (CPN and Meditech) to document patient care accurately
- Function as an effective team member in a fast-paced, high-acuity unit alongside charge nurses, surgical techs, and unit clerks
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Demonstrated experience with high-risk maternal patients
- Experience in circulating operating room and triage settings
- Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and maintain a fast pace in a high-acuity environment
- Strong team-oriented approach to patient care
Preferred Experience / Skills- Greater than 5 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Familiarity with CPN and/or Meditech EMR platforms
- Experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 designated maternal care environment
