Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across Labor & Delivery, postpartum, antepartum, C-section, and women's health patient populations in an 18-bed LDRP unit with triage and OR rooms
• Manage high-risk OB patients; transfer coordination for major maternal or fetal complications requiring higher-level intervention
• Perform and interpret fetal monitoring; advanced fetal monitoring competency required
• Self-circulate in OR rooms and assist with recovery of newborns, including participation as a second NRP-trained nurse at every delivery
• Document and chart using Cerner EMR, fetal links, and HUGS infant security system
• Adhere to evidence-based practices including Pitocin checklists, maternal mental health screenings, pre-eclampsia initiatives, and 100% chart audits

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in California
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Ability to independently start IVs
• Availability to work weekend shifts (expected 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period) and both a major and minor holiday
• Ability to be placed on standby as census requires, with a 30-minute call-in response time

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Cerner EMR charting
• Experience in high-risk OB settings with exposure to antepartum, L&D, postpartum, and women's health patient populations
• Familiarity with baby-friendly hospital initiatives including immediate skin-to-skin and early breastfeeding support
• Comfort with perinatal safety protocols and evidence-based OB practice environments
