Job Title
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location
Buckhannon, WV
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0645–1915) | At least 2 weekends per month required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed OB unit encompassing Labor & Delivery and Postpartum, supporting approximately 350 births per year
- Maintain staffing ratios of 1:1 for Labor & Delivery and 1:4 for postpartum couplets
- Utilize Centricity FHM System and EPIC EMR for patient monitoring and documentation
- Prepare for and manage patients from 20 weeks gestation and above, including mag, insulin, pitocin, multiples, VBACs, and all gestational ages
- Circulate C-sections as needed when the OR team is not yet present
- Participate in on-call rotation due to low or high census situations, as well as the facility holiday rotation
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certifications
- Experience in Labor & Delivery, including postpartum care
- Ability to circulate C-sections when required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Centricity Fetal Heart Monitoring System
- Comfort floating to MedSurg or ER as a helping hand while remaining available for deliveries
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
