Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater
- Manage double labor assignments in a high-volume, fast-paced birthing unit averaging approximately 20 births and 30–40 admissions per 24-hour period
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and provide immediate newborn care
- Circulate in the OR for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
- Conduct obstetrical triage, antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration
- Float as needed to a high-risk Special Maternity Care OB unit
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; 3 years strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a high-volume setting with more than 300 births per month
- Proficiency in circulating to the OR, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
- Required certifications: BLS (BCLS), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP
- Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR documentation systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience circulating in an obstetrical OR setting
- Background in high-acuity or high-risk maternity care environments
- Comfort managing double labor assignments as a routine expectation
