Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | 48 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit serving both low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) populations, including a certified nurse midwife population
  • Work within a unit that averages approximately 2,000 deliveries annually, utilizing 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
  • Cross-train to Mother/Baby unit as expected; may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) within scope of practice
  • Document patient care and clinical information using Epic electronic health records
  • Adhere to unit float requirements and facility compliance policies throughout the duration of the assignment
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in Virginia (pending license accepted at time of submission; license must be in-hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • Fetal monitoring certification
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification
  • Epic electronic health record experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • BSN degree preferred
  • Experience with both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patient populations
  • Familiarity with Mother/Baby and NICU (feeder/grower) care environments
