Job Title

Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Block Scheduling | Every Third Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients (?35 weeks) and postpartum mother/baby couplets in a rural LDRP setting with 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds
  • Titrate and manage drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and other antepartum/labor and postpartum medications per protocol
  • Monitor fetal and maternal status using OB Trace Vue electronic fetal monitoring system, adhering to AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines (Labor 1:1–2, Postpartum 1:2–3)
  • Operate and troubleshoot neonatal respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices
  • Circulate for the newborn during cesarean section procedures alongside the surgical team
  • Float to Med/Surg or ED as needed to provide 1:1 patient sitting support
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • Ability to pass facility fit testing for required respiratory protection (3M Aura 1860 or 3M 1870+); facial hair must not interfere with fit test compliance
  • Ability to titrate IV drips independently per unit protocol
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience working in a rural or critical access hospital environment with limited on-site specialty resources
  • Familiarity with OB Trace Vue electronic fetal monitoring system
  • Strong independent clinical judgment and communication skills suited for a low-volume, high-acuity setting
