Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to antepartum, maternal-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU patients in a Level 2 maternal/neonatal center
  • Manage labor patients at a 1:1 ratio, postpartum patients at a 1:2 ratio, and NICU patients at a 2:1 ratio
  • Administer and titrate drips including glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin per protocol
  • Monitor and interpret electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) throughout patient care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in a unit supporting 50–60 births per month across maternity, nursery, NICU, and C-section suite settings
  • Document all patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 24 months of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required
  • Travel nursing experience within the last 15 months required
  • Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission required
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
  • Medication administration experience with glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin required
  • Current BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA), NRP, Intermediate or Advanced EFM/Electronic Fetal Monitoring certificate, and STABLE certificate all required and must be documented
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Nursery and/or Mother-Baby experience preferred
  • NICU experience preferred
  • Postpartum nursing experience is a plus
  • Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
