Provide direct patient care in a high-risk perinatal unit including labor and delivery, antepartum, and postpartum settings
Perform and document sterile vaginal exams (SVE); SVE competency is a hard requirement for this role
Float to Postpartum as needed, supporting couplet care with CNA assistance
Participate in triage staffing alongside skilled RN colleagues in a multi-bay triage environment
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including delivering providers, CRNAs, surgical techs, CNAs, and health unit coordinators available 24/7
Commit to weekend availability and holiday rotation, including working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Required Qualifications
Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Relias Fetal Monitoring
Demonstrated SVE competency (hard stop requirement)
Willingness and ability to float to Postpartum as assigned
Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application; post-submission RTO requests may not be considered or granted
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a facility managing 200 or more deliveries per year; candidates from facilities with 100–200 deliveries will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records charting system
Experience in high-risk or Level III perinatal care environments
Prior travel nursing experience with demonstrated scheduling flexibility
