Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data, providing age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice.
  • Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff.
  • Apply standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
  • Contribute to department performance through precepting and mentoring novice employees and supporting Evidence Based Practice initiatives.
  • Float to assist in other like units as needed and perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform age-specific nursing assessments and interventions.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to nursing standards of practice and Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience precepting or mentoring new nursing staff.
  • Familiarity with hospital-system initiatives and Evidence Based Practice development in a clinical setting.
  • Commitment to continued professional growth through goal-setting and ongoing education.
