Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently and without supervision
- Monitor and assess laboring patients at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Document patient care accurately using electronic health record systems
- Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to support staffing requirements
- Participate in weekend rotation, which may exceed every other weekend based on unit need
Required Qualifications- Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of California (no pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum of 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience; 2+ years preferred
- Demonstrated expert-level ability to perform sterile vaginal exams independently
- AWHONN Advanced certification (hard stop requirement)
- Current ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NRP certifications required
- Epic EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills- 2 or more years of Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care hospital environment
- Experience floating to or working in a Mother Baby unit
- Familiarity with Meditech charting systems
