Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform sterile vaginal exams independently and without supervision as a core clinical requirement
• Conduct triage assessments and manage obstetric emergencies in accordance with unit protocols
• Document patient care and clinical data using Epic EMR
• Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to support staffing requirements
• Commit to working weekends, which may exceed every other weekend to meet unit need, and work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered California RN license or compact license in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience (1.5 years is a hard stop; candidates with fewer than 2 years may be considered depending on overall experience)
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required (hard stop — must hold a passing credential)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NRP
• Demonstrated ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently without supervision
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard travel rates (candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application; post-submission requests may not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Labor and Delivery RN experience
• Prior experience floating to Mother Baby or similar postpartum settings
• Familiarity with Meditech charting systems
• Experience working in a high-volume acute care hospital environment
