Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (12-Hour Nights) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit at a Level 2 rural hospital averaging approximately 70 deliveries per month
- Float to Postpartum or Mother/Baby within the same department as needed
- Assist with and circulate Cesarean section procedures
- Utilize electronic charting systems including EPIC and OBIX for accurate and timely documentation
- Apply strong assessment and critical thinking skills to monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
- Collaborate effectively with OB/GYN providers, family practice physicians, pediatric hospitalists, and anesthesia staff
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications (must be attached upon submittal)
- Proficiency with EPIC and OBIX charting systems
- Experience circulating Cesarean sections
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with Spinning Babies techniques or similar fetal positioning methodologies
- Background working in a rural or community hospital setting
- Demonstrated passion for maternal and child health
