Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans during hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider or NRP Instructor certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
- Strong ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
