Registered Nurse – Mother/Baby (Maternity Unit)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (0700–1930) | 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week | At least 1–2 weekends per month required | No holidays
Key Responsibilities
Provide family-centered antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care within a 32-bed maternity unit
Deliver evidence-based nursing care to a diverse urban patient population across a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Perform antepartum monitoring and fetal monitoring as part of routine patient assessment
Float to Labor & Delivery and NICU as needed, providing competent care across all three areas
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff to ensure patient safety and positive birth experiences
Support patient and family education throughout the childbirth experience
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1 year of experience in Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery, or related maternity nursing
Experience in both Labor & Delivery and NICU settings (float capability required)
Proficiency in postpartum care, newborn care, and antepartum care including antepartum monitoring
Fetal monitoring experience required (certification not required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for diverse urban patient populations with varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Familiarity with high-acuity maternity and neonatal care environments
