Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in the care of Labor & Delivery patients.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and applicable state laws.
Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
Document patient care activities in accordance with established standards of care.
Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
Apply critical thinking skills to support patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command as needed.
Required Qualifications
Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Current CPR, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required.
High-risk Labor & Delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience providing clinical expertise and guidance across units or departments in support of longitudinal patient care plans.
Familiarity with shared governance models and unit-level performance improvement initiatives.
