A respected acute care hospital is seeking a Perinatal Nurse Educator to support education, competency development, and clinical excellence across Women’s & Children’s Services.
This role is ideal for an experienced perinatal nurse who is passionate about education, staff development, and advancing evidence-based care in a collaborative hospital environment.
Position OverviewThe Perinatal Nurse Educator will lead and coordinate educational initiatives across Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, Nursery, OB Triage, and related perinatal services. This individual will play a key role in ensuring staff competency, supporting quality initiatives, and promoting best practices in patient care.
This is a high-impact role with strong visibility across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and develop educational programs across perinatal service lines
- Lead orientation, competency validation, and ongoing staff education
- Support simulation training and skills development initiatives
- Partner with leadership to address performance gaps and training needs
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource within Women’s & Children’s Services
- Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
- Assist in preparation for accreditation and regulatory reviews
- Maintain competency tracking and education records
Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of perinatal nursing experience
- Strong clinical background in Labor & Delivery and/or Mother/Baby
- Experience in education, training, or precepting preferred
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in perinatal care
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Compensation & Benefits- $68.77 – $93.87 per hour
