Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required
Key Responsibilities
Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in a Labor and Delivery setting.
Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and connects to appropriate resources.
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
Current NRP certification required.
Current ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
Current certification in one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery or related perinatal nursing experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Completion of a Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in a perinatal setting strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage contingencies and complex clinical situations independently within a Labor and Delivery environment.
