    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

    Location

    Santa Cruz, CA

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in an 8–10 room Labor and Delivery unit managing high-risk obstetric patients including those with PIH, preeclampsia, preterm labor, and magnesium sulfate protocols
    • Monitor maternal and fetal status using central fetal heart monitoring and Fetal Link systems, with documentation in Cerner EMR?
    • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or up to 1:3 depending on patient acuity and unit census
    • Collaborate with OB/GYN hospitalists, OB techs, lactation consultants, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
    • Float to Mother Baby unit as needed based on staffing and census requirements
    • Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling and integrate into core holiday rotation
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of California
    • Current BLS certification
    • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
    • Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
    • Proficiency with Cerner EMR and fetal monitoring technology
    • Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and rotating holidays
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience caring for high-risk obstetric populations including patients with addiction, preeclampsia, and preterm labor
    • Ability to scrub for operative deliveries is a strong plus
    • Prior experience working in a locked Labor and Delivery unit with an in-house Level 3 NICU
