Provide direct patient care in an 8–10 room Labor and Delivery unit managing high-risk obstetric patients including those with PIH, preeclampsia, preterm labor, and magnesium sulfate protocols
Monitor maternal and fetal status using central fetal heart monitoring and Fetal Link systems, with documentation in Cerner EMR?
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or up to 1:3 depending on patient acuity and unit census
Collaborate with OB/GYN hospitalists, OB techs, lactation consultants, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
Float to Mother Baby unit as needed based on staffing and census requirements
Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling and integrate into core holiday rotation
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of California
Current BLS certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
Proficiency with Cerner EMR and fetal monitoring technology
Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and rotating holidays
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for high-risk obstetric populations including patients with addiction, preeclampsia, and preterm labor
Ability to scrub for operative deliveries is a strong plus
Prior experience working in a locked Labor and Delivery unit with an in-house Level 3 NICU
