Provide direct patient care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit supporting a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
Circulate in the operating room during cesarean sections and other surgical deliveries across 4 ORs
Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
Perform electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR — hard stop requirement; candidates without this skill will not be considered
Competency in newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — hard stop requirement
Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
3–5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
ACLS certification preferred
AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate fetal monitoring certification preferred
Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings
