Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit managing all types of L&D cases across 31 rooms and 4 operating rooms
Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
Circulate in the operating room as required for surgical deliveries
Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
Perform electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities offering Mother/Baby services, as needed
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR — hard stop requirement
Demonstrated ability to provide newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — hard stop requirement
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring
Active, valid RN license (compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
Required certifications: BLS and NRP
Preferred Experience / Skills
3–5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
Experience with midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care populations
Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and high-volume delivery environments
