Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients in a 9-bed L&D unit with 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio
Perform and assist with unit procedures including circulating in the OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management using the JADA system, and nitrous oxide administration
Document patient care accurately using CPN and Meditech electronic documentation systems
Support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities in alignment with individual patient preferences
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary laborist team model including 24/7 in-house midwives, dedicated CRNA, and on-call OBGYN
Fulfill scheduling requirements including 4 weekend shifts per month; float to mother/baby or outside department to task as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Current NRP certification
Fetal monitoring certification
Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
Familiarity with Spinning Babies techniques
STABLE certification or training
Experience with couplet care and breastfeeding support practices
