Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Some Weekend Shifts Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to high-risk labor and delivery patients, including those with pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and multiple gestations
- Manage active labor patients including induction, augmentation, VBAC/TOLAC, and maternal emergencies
- Care for antepartum patients at established nurse-to-patient ratios (Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3)
- Float between units within the facility as needed to support staffing demands
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Experience with high-risk L&D including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, VBAC/TOLAC, and maternal emergencies
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in a short-term acute care or Level II Trauma Center setting
- Familiarity with high-volume teaching hospital environments
- Experience managing induction, augmentation, and active labor in a high-acuity setting
