Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and immediate postpartum patients in a high-acuity, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit
- Independently manage routine and high-risk obstetric patients, including fetal monitoring, interpretation, and response to OB emergencies and rapid response situations
- Administer medications and IV therapy; provide labor support and coaching throughout the birth process
- Collaborate with obstetric providers, anesthesia, NICU, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care
- Float between Labor & Birth and Antepartum as needed, managing patient ratios of 2 patients on L&B and 3–4 patients on Antepartum
- Adapt quickly to unit workflows, policies, and electronic medical record systems
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery / Labor & Birth experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage laboring patients, including high-risk obstetric cases
- Strong skills in fetal monitoring, OB emergencies, rapid response, medication administration, and IV therapy
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills; ability to work both independently and within a team-based environment
Preferred Experience / Skills- EFM training and Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification
- Experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 NICU-adjacent or high-volume delivery environment
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Comfort floating between Antepartum and Labor & Birth units
