Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every Other Weekend Required | On-Call Required (2 twelve-hour call shifts per every 6 weeks, one must be a weekend shift) | Floating between departments within the Women's Pavilion required
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assist laboring patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care
- Circulate for vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections; attend deliveries to support newborn resuscitation
- Triage obstetrical patients at 20 weeks gestation and above
- Recover vaginal and cesarean delivery patients and provide care to antepartum patients requiring management in Labor & Delivery
- Communicate effectively with providers and demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in the planning and delivery of safe patient care
- Delegate patient care priorities and provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Minimum 2 previously completed travel assignments in Labor & Delivery
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Ability to pass an EKG competency assessment
- Ability to meet every-other-weekend scheduling requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with CPN (GE) and Cerner electronic medical records
- Experience circulating for cesarean sections
- Familiarity with AWHONN staffing standards and patient ratios (1:1 or 1:2)
