Provide direct nursing care to high-risk OB patients with multiple co-morbidities, including multiple gestations and surrogate pregnancies, in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit (approximately 300 deliveries per month)
Utilize Cerner EMR, fetal link, and HUGS security system for accurate and timely documentation in accordance with perinatal initiative standards
Maintain strong IV insertion skills; IV team support is not available for bedside nurses
Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and 2 out of 3 major holiday rotations; additional weekend shifts may occur depending on scheduling needs
Float to postpartum as first priority; may also float to NICU as needed
Support baby-friendly practices including first-hour skin-to-skin care; collaborate with NICU nurses and Respiratory Therapy during high-risk deliveries
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in California (or compact equivalent if applicable)
Cerner EMR experience required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced EFM
Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
Ability to follow state and AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines
Comfort and experience working with surrogate pregnancies, multiple gestations, and high-risk OB populations
Preferred Experience / Skills
Familiarity with perinatal initiative documentation and care standards
Experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery setting with complex, multi-comorbidity patient populations
Comfort with fetal monitoring technology and fetal link systems
