Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a dedicated Labor and Delivery unit with 12 L&D beds, 4 triage beds, and 2 OR suites for C-sections, supporting a volume of approximately 160–200 births per month
• Circulate and participate in C-section procedures within the OR suites on the unit
• Independently read and interpret fetal monitoring strips using the WatchChild monitoring system — no monitor technicians are on unit
• Float to the postpartum/mom-baby unit on an occasional, as-needed basis (16 postpartum beds)
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including surgical techs, in-house OB/Neonatology, and 24/7 in-house anesthesia
• Adhere to AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines and follow unit-specific orientation protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Ability to independently read and interpret fetal monitoring strips
• Willingness to float to the mom-baby/postpartum unit as needed and fulfill holiday and every-other-weekend requirements

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery setting
• Familiarity with C-section circulating responsibilities
• Experience working alongside surgical technologists in an L&D OR environment
• Comfort with respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
