Job Title: Registered Nurse I Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: Direct Hire Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required License: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License Certifications: N/A Must-Have: - Completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree. Description: The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. This is done utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies and procedures. The purpose is to monitor and evaluate patient functional status. Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors. Documents steps of the nursing process. Utilizes proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources. This is suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Evidence of this is shown by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports. Exercises independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives. Note that these decisions are subject to general review in final stages only. Coordinates activities of others but does not supervise. Leads others in the same work performed but does not supervise. Has input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or give. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Engages with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Interacts with external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Frequently collaborates with individuals at Director level or above. Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently. Ability to be detail-oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
