Registered Nurse - Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) care. This role is based in Grants, New Mexico, and involves delivering safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care throughout the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The LDRP RN will coordinate individualized patient education, guide and supervise ancillary team members, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. You will consistently uphold professional nursing standards, ensuring all practice aligns with the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, procedures, and current evidence-based guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for perinatal patients.
- Provide direct, high-quality nursing care across the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum continuum, including newborn assessment.
- Offer clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care.
- Direct and supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Nursing Assistants (NAs), and other ancillary personnel.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader interdisciplinary care team.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
- Float to other departments as needed, with appropriate orientation and training.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification required within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- SAFER NM Technician certification.
