Schedule: 2–3 Full Weekends per 6 Weeks | Self-Scheduling
Call: 2–3 Call Shifts per 6 Weeks
Duration: 13 Weeks (extension possible)
✨ Join a Scenic Mountain LDRP UnitWork in a beautiful mountain community supporting a low-risk LDRP unit with approximately 35 deliveries per month. This is a great opportunity to provide full-spectrum maternal-newborn care in a close-knit, supportive environment.
Required Certifications- BLS, ACLS (AHA) – Required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required
- STABLE Certification – Required
Unit Overview- Unit Type: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Beds: 8 LDRP beds
- C-Section OR: 1 suite
- Deliveries: ~35/month
- Patient Population: Low-risk pregnancies (>36 weeks)
- Ratios: AWHONN standard
Key Responsibilities- Provide full LDRP care:
- Labor & delivery
- Postpartum care
- Newborn stabilization
- Monitor maternal & fetal status using OBIX EFM system
- Administer and titrate:
- Oxytocin
- Magnesium sulfate (occasional)
- Assist with C-sections in unit OR
- Perform newborn care & resuscitation (NRP/STABLE)
- Interpret fetal monitoring strips independently
- Float as helping hands to other units if needed
Work Environment- Charge RN takes assignment
- 1 OB Tech per shift
- No in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7
- Anesthesia available when epidurals are active
- RT support available
- Neonatal support:
- CPAP commonly used (high elevation)
- Vent available for stabilization before transfer (rare use)
Schedule & Requirements- Night shifts
- Weekend Requirement: 2–3 full weekends per 6 weeks
- Holiday Requirement: 1 summer + 1 winter holiday
- Call: 2–3 shifts per 6 weeks
- Floating: Rare (helping hands only)
Orientation- 2 shifts with preceptor
- Must be in-state during orientation week
