Shift: 12-Hour Nights
Schedule: 2–3 Full Weekends per 6 Weeks | Self-Scheduling
Call: 2–3 Call Shifts per 6 Weeks

Work in a beautiful mountain community supporting a low-risk LDRP unit with approximately 35 deliveries per month. This is a great opportunity to provide full-spectrum maternal-newborn care in a close-knit, supportive environment.

Required Certifications
  • BLS, ACLS (AHA) – Required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required
  • STABLE Certification – Required
Unit Overview
  • Unit Type: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
  • Beds: 8 LDRP beds
  • C-Section OR: 1 suite
  • Deliveries: ~35/month
  • Patient Population: Low-risk pregnancies (>36 weeks)
  • Ratios: AWHONN standard
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide full LDRP care:
    • Labor & delivery
    • Postpartum care
    • Newborn stabilization
  • Monitor maternal & fetal status using OBIX EFM system
  • Administer and titrate:
    • Oxytocin
    • Magnesium sulfate (occasional)
  • Assist with C-sections in unit OR
  • Perform newborn care & resuscitation (NRP/STABLE)
  • Interpret fetal monitoring strips independently
  • Float as helping hands to other units if needed
Work Environment
  • Charge RN takes assignment
  • 1 OB Tech per shift
  • No in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7
  • Anesthesia available when epidurals are active
  • RT support available
  • Neonatal support:
    • CPAP commonly used (high elevation)
    • Vent available for stabilization before transfer (rare use)
Schedule & Requirements
  • Night shifts
  • Weekend Requirement: 2–3 full weekends per 6 weeks
  • Holiday Requirement: 1 summer + 1 winter holiday
  • Call: 2–3 shifts per 6 weeks
  • Floating: Rare (helping hands only)
Orientation
  • 2 shifts with preceptor
  • Must be in-state during orientation week
Dress Code
  • Blue scrubs provided
