Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Long Term Acute Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: State RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - At least one year of EPIC experience - Ability to float to other units based on need - Weekend coverage every other weekend Description: Shift is 3x12 Nights from 19:00 to 07:30. Floating is required if the unit has a need. Every other weekend coverage may change based on need. Unit will accept first-time travelers depending on experience in the specialty. Patient population includes adults aged 18 years and older. Common patient diagnoses include vent weaning, wound care, spinal cord injury, and Trach/Peg. Staff will work in both ICU and Med-Surg settings as needed. Interdisciplinary support is provided by physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Staff will float only to units they are qualified for, performing tasks for which competencies have already been demonstrated and documented. Travelers must demonstrate experience with medication systems and care for complex conditions. Specific skills required include IV management, wound care, and monitoring of various medical conditions. Experience with patients requiring advanced interventions is preferred. This position includes billable modules to complete prior to the start of the contract. Travelers are required to have a minimum of 1-year experience with the specified electronic medical record system. Inquiries about floating policies and unit requirements can be addressed prior to contract acceptance.
