Care is provided by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills and scientific judgment. Leadership is essential in the anticipation and planning for the safe delivery of care. Maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education is required. Patient care priorities should be delegated commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available. Direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care are essential responsibilities.
