This role adheres to the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills and scientific judgment. The RN is accountable for the safe delivery of care. Maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education is essential. The RN delegates patient care priorities according to the education and experience of available staff. Direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care is part of the role. Patient ratios are 1:6.
