Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift
• Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate care for patients with complex medical needs
• Strong communication, organization, delegation, and clinical decision-making skills

LTAC Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within eight hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care.
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate pertinent information to providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and clinical updates accurately and promptly.
• Participate in rehabilitation programming and encourage patients and families in achieving identified care goals.
• Initiate discharge planning and provide patient and family education to support a safe transition from the facility.
• Supervise, guide, and appropriately delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and orienting staff.
• Promote patient and workplace safety, including safe patient handling, infection prevention, and hazard awareness.
• Prioritize assignments, manage time effectively, and support efficient use of unit resources.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and the interdisciplinary team to promote quality outcomes and continuity of care.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation when requested.
