# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Long-Term Acute Care – North CarolinaStart Date: October 5, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, Night Shift (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every other weekend requiredHighlights:
  • Low-acuity geriatric population in a long-term acute care setting with primarily assisted living-level residents
  • Patient ratio of 1:40 for most of shift, 1:20 during peak medication pass hours (7 PM - 11 PM)
  • PointClickCare electronic medical record system required
  • 13-week contract available with 24 hours of unit orientation
  • Minimal complex care requirements: limited IV therapy, tube feedings, and catheter care
  • No call or float requirements; supportive team environment with CNA assistance
Requirements:
  • Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Long-term acute care (LTAC) experience required
  • PointClickCare charting system experience required
  • BLS certification current and valid
  • First-time travelers accepted if skilled nursing experience is demonstrated
  • Proficiency in geriatric nursing assessments, medication administration (oral, IM, subcutaneous, IV), blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, wound care, catheter care, feeding tube management, and infection control
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous charge nurse experience
  • Community hospital or teaching hospital background
  • Trauma Level I or II experience
  • Experience with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, CVA, memory care, or palliative/end-of-life care
  • Familiarity with specialized equipment including wound VAC, PICC lines, BiPAP/CPAP, or tracheostomy care
