# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Long-Term Acute Care – ConnecticutStart Date: October 26, 2026Location: ConnecticutCompensation: Details provided to qualified applicants (local candidates accepted at travel rate)Schedule: 36 hours per week, night shift (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every other weekend requiredHighlights:- Low-acuity geriatric long-term acute care setting with a focus on quality resident care- Patient ratios of 1:20 during peak hours (7 PM - 11 PM) and 1:40 overnight when acuity is lowest- PointClickCare electronic health record system (experience required)- 13-week contract with 24 hours of unit orientation provided- Supportive team environment with CNA assistance and on-call physician coverage after hours- No call requirement and no floating to other unitsRequirements:- Active RN license (state or Compact license accepted)- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required- LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) experience required- BLS certification (current)- Proficiency with PointClickCare charting system required- First-time travelers accepted with skilled nursing experience- Comprehensive skills including medication administration, wound care, diabetes management, catheter care, feeding tube management, IV therapy, and infection control protocols- Experience with geriatric patient populations and common diagnoses including dementia, CVA, COPD, and post-surgical care- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)Preferred Qualifications:- Previous charge nurse experience- Community hospital background- Teaching hospital experience- Trauma Level I or II facility experience- Skills in specialty care including central line management, wound VAC therapy, tracheostomy care, and end-of-life/palliative careWhy It's a Great Opportunity:This position offers the chance to provide compassionate care to a stable geriatric population in a low-acuity environment where you can truly get to know your residents.
