Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Skilled Nursing Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS for RNs Must-Have: Prior skilled nursing or subacute experience Description: The facility operates a skilled nursing unit with semi-private rooms. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 for RNs, with support from LPNs and CNAs. Common patient diagnoses include pulmonary conditions requiring oxygen, Alzheimer's, and dementia. Job duties for RNs include medication administration, wound care, tracheostomy care, and IV care. Respiratory therapy provides support for stable ventilators and tracheostomy care. Nurses are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehabilitation. A house supervisor is available on-site, along with physician availability after hours. An interdisciplinary team is present, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and case management. Pharmacy services and medication dispensing systems are utilized on-site. Shifts are fixed, with no self-scheduling or block scheduling available. Weekend and holiday shifts are required. There is no call or standby requirement for this position. Scrub colors for RNs and LPNs are navy blue, while CNAs wear forest green. Both PAPR and N95 masks are utilized. The facility allows for up to four shift cancellations within a 13-week assignment.
