Registered Nurse – Long-Term Care (RN – LTC) | Hot Springs, SD | 13 Weeks Contract

Job Details
  • Position: Registered Nurse – Long-Term Care (RN – LTC)
  • Location: Hot Springs
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Schedule: 5×8
  • Experience Required: 2 Years
  • Weekly Pay:$2160 to $2360
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting
  • Perform patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, wound care, tube feedings, and other prescribed treatments
  • Monitor resident conditions and promptly communicate changes to physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
  • Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and ongoing resident care planning
  • Educate residents and family members regarding medications, treatments, disease management, and care plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention practices, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary care conferences
  • Promote resident dignity, independence, and overall quality of life through compassionate, patient-centered care
Requirements
  • Active South Dakota Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Strong knowledge of geriatric nursing, chronic disease management, medication administration, and rehabilitation care
  • Experience supervising nursing support staff
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple residents in a fast-paced long-term care environment
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based resident care
