Job Summary:
Long Term Care Nurse Practitioner - Garrison, North Dakota. This position involves providing care for residents with conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and dementia in a long-term care setting. The role requires acting as charge nurse, administering medications, and performing wound care within a 26-bed facility.

Job Details:

  • Location: Garrison, North Dakota
  • Certification Requirements: BLS Certification
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a nurse in a long-term care environment, with an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Shift Notes: EOW (every other week), days, first to float
  • Facility type: Long-term care facility with 26 beds
  • Ratios: Nurses 1:10 on day shifts and 1:19 on night shifts
  • Common diagnoses / patient types: Heart disease, diabetes, dementia
  • Duties: Act as charge nurse, pass medications, perform wound care
  • Equipment & Facilities: Concentrators and portable concentrators for oxygen therapy; off-site pharmacy; charting system utilizing MatrixCare/MatrixBSN
  • Staff & Support: Interdisciplinary team includes PT, Social Worker designee, Pulmonary or Cardiac Rehab staff as needed; no RT on-site 24/7; physician on-call after hours.
  • Additional notes: No floating required beyond standard orientation of 2-3 shifts; candidates must adhere to a 50-mile radius and may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with associated facilities of the organization.
  • RTO: Upfront requests of 7 days or less are accepted for initial contract, with no additional RTO approval afterward.
