Job Summary
Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Seward, Alaska. This role involves providing compassionate patient care within a long-term care facility for adults and geriatrics. The position offers a rotating shift schedule with variable hours and the opportunity to choose between 13- or 26-week assignments.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with guaranteed hours of 60 hours per two weeks.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska nursing license (or pending license acceptable if indicated), BLS certification, at least 1 year of experience in Long Term Care, minimum of 1 year of experience (including patient ratios of 20), familiarity with the Epic electronic charting system, and LTC experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with community hospital, LTAC, trauma level I or II, and specific clinical skills such as accuchecks, implanted glucose sensors, PEG tube feedings, Duopa pumps, IV hydration, phlebotomy, perioperative dialysis (subcutaneous), respiratory treatments, and wound care.
- Additional Information: Candidates must obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation with a one-time fee of $10. Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's). No local candidates accepted; all candidates must have a minimum of 50 miles from the facility. RTO requests are limited and must be submitted with the application. A facility-provided vehicle will be arranged, and candidates must comply with vehicle use policies. Certification, references, and documentation requirements are necessary for submission.
