Job Summary Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) Location unspecified. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care within a long-term care facility. The assigned shifts are rotating, with opportunities for either day or night shifts, dependent on the facility's needs, and require a minimum commitment of 48 hours per week for 12-hour shifts. Previous travel experience and Alaska license are required.
Job Details
Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS certification; at least 1 year of experience in Long Term Care nursing; Alaska license in hand; experience working with dementia, Alzheimer's, TBIP, and other LTC level of care diagnoses; minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a similar setting.
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
Responsibilities include administering oxygen therapy, peripheral line care, wound care, respiratory treatments (nebulizers), and managing various patient diagnoses such as dementia and physical impairments.
Additional requirements include obtaining the Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation (a one-time fee applies), and willingness to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).
Travelers choice for 13 or 26-week assignments, and must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs.
Candidates must provide two references covering the past one year, including current or prior work in LTC settings.
Candidates will need to be willing to work a schedule with necessary flexibility and must have good charting system experience.
Location: The facility has 40 beds, with patient care focusing on dementia, Alzheimer's, TBIP, and other LTC diagnoses.
Other responsibilities include the completion of required modules prior to start and during orientation, with time recorded appropriately in Workramp transcripts.
