Job Summary:
Nurse Manager Labor & Delivery position in Templeton, California. This role involves providing unit-based leadership within a 122-bed acute care facility, overseeing nursing and ancillary personnel to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager will collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain safety standards, improve patient outcomes, and enhance overall satisfaction.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved vendor is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree in nursing or related field; five years of technical experience; supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills; CPR certification; clinical specialty or nursing administration certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) from AHA or ARC; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) from AHA or ARC.
- Essential Functions: Provide unit-based leadership, supervise and direct nursing staff, coordinate team conferences, monitor patient care activities, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Involved in staffing assessments, performance evaluations, staff coaching, and disciplinary actions. Facilitate communication among team members, patients, and families, and address operational issues to optimize patient care. Maintain safety and cleanliness standards and keep management informed of operational activities.
- Additional Information: The position requires ongoing assessment of department operations and patient care processes to identify improvement opportunities. The Nurse Manager will work with the clinical team to implement systems and staff development activities, support patient safety initiatives, and ensure policy adherence.
