This 13-week contract position offers an opportunity to provide quality patient care in a fast-paced medical surgical setting within a healthcare facility. The role involves supporting patient recovery and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure optimal outcomes.
Job Details
Position Description: Backfill contract role for a Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) on a 13-week assignment, providing care on a Medical Surgical Floor.
Unit Information: Located on the second north floor with 14 beds, staffed with 3 registered nurses (RN), 1 patient care technician (PCT), and have a rotating call requirement for weekends.
Relevant Skills: Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Preferred Skills: ACLS certification and rhythm interpretation experience.
Type of staff: 3 RNs and 1 PCT per shift, with an average patient-to-staff ratio of 1:5.
Procedures: Common procedures include bronchoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), and colonoscopy.
Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: 1 year of experience as a Medical Surgical Nurse, current BLS and NIHSS certifications, graduate of an accredited nursing program, active nursing license, and at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
Additional Information: Candidates should be flexible and a team player, able to adhere to the unit's dress code (scrubs in navy), and follow unit policies and guidelines. Experience with new equipment or technology and a strong tenure on similar units are advantageous to attract candidates.
